Plot
Fujino Minori is a systems engineer who works entirely remotely and suffers from extreme social anxiety. She keeps her curtains closed, leaves messages unread, and if she hears a neighbor’s footsteps in the hallway, she holds her breath by the front door until they pass. She has gone 150 days without a face-to-face conversation. Whether it is work-related stress or late-night thoughts, she confides everything in her personal adaptive AI assistant, OPTI. One early morning, exhausted from continuing her work after being reprimanded by her boss, Minori notices a strange pop-up suddenly appear on her screen: “Would you like to disconnect yourself from the world?” Absentmindedly, she clicks it.
